Knowing how to set bulk discounts for individual items gives customers great incentive to purchase more of your products. A higher volume of items per order will improve your website's credibility and traffic, especially when customers are tempted by personalised offers such as "15% off when you buy two items, and 30% for orders of three items or more". Knowing how to do this makes your website look far more professional and gives greater incentive for new customers to purchase your items.

Open the editor, click on Basket, and select the Items section.
In the list of items, select the item that you want to apply bulk discount to.
Scroll down until you find the Bulk discounts section, and open it up.
You need to decide on the exact bulk discount offered for this item. As a fashion shop, a good bulk discount would be: 15% off for orders of two items, and 30% off for orders of three or more items.
So, how do we set this bulk discount rule?
Use this box on the left-hand side to type in a message that makes customers aware of the bulk discount when they view this item.
When it comes to setting bulk discounts, Band 1 will tend to stay the same.
In the top field, keep the value at one, while the percentage is set to zero.
Such rules dictate that customers receive no discount when they purchase just one item (offering discount for orders of one item goes against the principle of bulk discounts, after all).
Given that, in this case, you want to offer 15% off for orders of two items, you would write 2 in the top section of Band 2, with 15% in the percentage section.
Such rules dictate that, while no discount is applied to orders of one item, 15% discount applies to orders of two items.
So, we have so far used the bulk discount section to stipulate that orders of one item receive no discount, while orders of two orders receive 15% discount.
Given that the top section of Band 2 is at two, the percentage inserted in the bottom section of Band 3 will apply to orders of three or more items. Just type in 30%, or whatever percentage you wish to apply in this case.
Once you have finished, click Save and view.
Leave the editor and open up your website as if you were a visitor (test transactions are only possible if your website is live).
Go on your item and make orders for one, two and three units. You will see that the bulk discounts work exactly how we wanted them to.
If you wanted to offer a buy-one-get-one-free deal, it does not work by setting Band 2 at 50% and leaving Band 3 as blank.
Doing this will not set 50% off for two items and then go back to normal for three or four items. The system keep applying the 50% discount in each instance. This is because these bands are linked, meaning that the percentage in Band 3 always has to be equal to or greater than the percentage set in Band 2.
So, instead of buy-one-get-one-free, you can offer 50% off for purchases of two or more items.
