Before we start building your website we will conduct a thorough design/ business consultation with you. This usually lasts 40 mins for a standard website and up to 60 minutes for a larger website design.
Obtain an overview of your business and the role that you want your website to play. We will discuss what is important to you, what makes you different and what your clients typically say about you. We want your website to reflect your business and drive more customers, and we will agree the user-journeys and actions you want your website visitors to take.
Agree some basic design principles about your website and set mutual design expectations. We will discuss the look and feel of your site and how you want it to work and we will explain how we will tackle aspects that are particularly important to you.
Gather the written content and the images that you want to appear on your website.
What do you want to get found for?
What phrases do your customers type in to find you? What-you-do and where-you-do-it is a good place to start.
Although there are no guarantees (and it very much depends on the scale of your competition) we will use our many years of experience to optimise your website to appear high on the Google search results pages for your chosen key words.
Images are incredibly important. They have the biggest impact on the way that your website looks. We will provide you with our company dropBox account and you can simply 'drag-in' all the images you want to us to use.
Although we much prefer to use your images, a shaky, mobile phone taken picture is no match for a professionally taken photo. However, we are realistic and understand that few people take high quality cameras to work.
We will therefore include up to £120 of stock images on your website for free. Just visit to our image partner and select the codes of the images you want to use and we'll include for free. However, if you do this please make sure that the images you choose are sympathetic to the colour palette you want us to use. (try to keep a common colour theme running through the images you select).
Before we set to work there are a couple of things that we need to setup.
Firstly, we will agree with you a date when you can review the final design. We like to set this at this early stage so we have a clear deadline to work towards. The duration depends on our current workload, but is generally about 10 working days. If you have chosen a full website package, this includes some time to cover basic editor training.
Finally, if you are a new customer we will help you choose a new domain name or take the details of your existing domain name and setup your website account. We will take full payment before we start the work. If you are a new customer, this will be the design fee plus the first month's hosting payment.
Once the design is signed off you are then responsible for logging in and using our tools to keep the site updated. Our support team and resources are always available if you need any help in this regard.
