Day 7: Linking Facebook and Twitter with your website

Regardless of what you might think of social media, your customers do use it.
With a little effort you can integrate your website with the main social media sites and access a much wider audience who are looking for products and services you offer right now.

Create separate profiles for your business. You can connect them to your personal profiles if you want to.

If you haven't yet 'bitten the bullet' and created social business profiles for your business we strongly recommend spending a little time creating profiles and then using our tools to integrate your new website with these social profiles.

How can you build your website and connect with your social media sites ?

Integrating your social sites with your website is super easy. There are three main ways you can do this

1

Add social site buttons on your headers, footers and contact pages that link to your social profiles.

This simply provides a link so that your clients can move from your website to your social media page and see a different type of information generated by you and your social media audience.

2

Automatically post to Facebook and Twitter when you create or edit a new page, a product or a blog post.

This is ensures your Twitter and Facebook pages are connected and synchronised with summaries of the pages or blog posts that you have most recently created. These posts are styled to summarise and market your website in a way that encourages your social media audience to keep visiting your website.

3

Add 'plug-ins' directly provided by the social sites.

Bring your social media content to your website. Most social media companies give you a little piece of code that allows you to show a summary or a 'stream' of content and activity from your social pages. Again, this can offer a much more connected experience for your visitors and encourage them to visit (and keep visiting) your social media pages.

Adding social buttons

Enter the addresses of your social sites into your social media section and switch on

If you choose a header or footer that is designed to have social media links then, social media buttons will be automatically added.

Choose the style of your buttons

From the style menu, choose the social media buttons and customise how they appear on your page

Post directly to your Facebook and Twitter accounts

The two most widely adopted social media sites are Twitter and Facebook. Managing and integrating consistent content between your accounts and your website can be time-consuming and repetitious. We have therefore integrated an automated one-click posting feature. You can now post your webpages, your online products and your blog posts with a single click.

As a default we also prompt you to automatically post updates to your social media accounts as you make changes. Your page content and images are automatically rendered into well formatted Facebook and Twitter posts .
