There may be times when you want to link to a page that is very long. in which case you may wish to send your visitors to a position on that page where there is a table or an image or some specific information. Before reading this article you must be familiar with the concept of linking to other pages and creating anchors. If you can do both of these then linking to anchors on other pages will be easy.
link, internal page, anchor,Follow Step-by-Step
Highlight the text or click the image you want to make clickable.
At this stage you have simply created a link to an internal page. But link to a named position on a page is a bit more tricky.
At this stage you MUST have created the named position on the target page. If you have not done so follow the instructions in a previous article in this series and go ahead and create the named place (or anchor). Be sure to remember the name of this anchor.
If we want to extend a webpage address by adding and anchor - all we have to do is append the hash symbol (#) followed by the anchor name.
So a webpage address of "contact.html" would change to "contact.html#apple" if the anchor was named 'apple'.
Click inside the box that contains the address. Add a hash symbol '#' and then the name of your anchor. Be sure not to add any spaces !. Finally click the green [OK] button.
Save the editor and test out your link.
