Most website builders using the Reason8 system will no doubt have seen and tried the incredible new Template Designer. Under continued development to make sure it’s one of the best design systems available online, it is successfully helping Reason8 customers to create the perfect look and feel for their business website. One of the main components of your header design will be the text you include for your company name, slogan and perhaps contact information. Using the right font or typeface can make all the difference to your design.
We’ve created a whole series of tutorials to help you get the very best out of your template designer. Click here to view all the tutorials so far.
There are so many different fonts to choose from these days and so it can be difficult to decide which one to use. Fonts or Typefaces can create an impression and feel all on there own. There are funny fonts, serious fonts, professional looking fonts, spooky fonts, era fonts, traditional, script, straight, round, square etc., etc., etc. Choosing the right one for your business website header can be very important.
For instance you wouldn’t want to be promoting a serious or professional service with a silly bubble style font. Similarly, a straight and plain professional style font wouldn’t work that well for a website promoting children’s party supplies.
Be careful though, with so many new fonts to choose from on your template designer, don’t be tempted to go crazy. Some designers have been known to go over the top, changing fonts every few words or using fonts with settings, which make them virtually unreadable, because they look groovy !?. Try to stick to using no more than 2 fonts within your header text. And don't go changing the font mid sentence unless you have a very good reason!
Login to your website, click step 2 Style and click the header to open the editor. Click the Text tab at the top of the designer or simply double click on any existing text within the editor to start editing. There is one box to enter and edit your text - “ Enter Text Here” at the very top of your text control window, and another box below from which you drag and drop to place your text – “DRAG this text”.
If you need different lines of text, which may need to be highlighted in different ways, it’s easier to create one line of text at a time. Create your first line of text and drag it into position. This way you can now see how the fonts and settings you choose work in your header as you go.
When choosing a font, consider which one best portrays your type of business, products and services and also consider which font will most effectively attract YOUR specific audience. Once you’ve chosen your preferred font, you can set the style using the sliders, tick boxes and colour spectrums within your text editor. You’ll see the changes you make immediately so if you don’t like what you’ve created, just try another setting.

These days, websites without background videos run the risk of appearing old-fashioned. Even dinosaurish,
There’s nothing wrong with dinosaurs, or with looking like one. Dinosaurs are cool. Unless they’re chasing you of course.
But our new background videos have landed, exploded and changed the game. They have wiped out the old standards for beautiful websites, and have replaced them with a new standard that will leave all other websites looking like fossils.
Luckily, both our existing clients and our new ones have access to this brilliant new feature we’ve introduced, and we’d like to share its benefits with you today.
A superhero is only super because he or she stands out amongst the crowd. If we were a planet of flying, teleporting, time-freezing super-strong aliens, then we wouldn’t think there was anything super about us. When it comes to using formatting methods such as bold, italics, capitals or centering, all of these little text-enhancing superheroes will only stand out if they are used sparingly, in the right place, and when absolutely necessary…
Reviews, testimonials, recommendations – we all seek reassurance in them. We might even skip past the good ones just to see if there are any bad ones.Other people are sources of information for us. They can tell us whether this product or service is actually any good or not. Reading their testimonials builds trust in your business.
