We recommend taking a look at more recent website building blog posts or check out our comprehensive support pages. If you are looking for information on our 14 day free website builder trial we have a large number of webpages that guide you throug the process.
We’ve looked at several of the flexibilities and functions of your Reason8 website editor. The system has been designed to make the process of building a website as easy and as fun as possible. Catering for the masses – it’s simple to use for beginners, with helpful wizards and guides to show you what to do, while being flexible enough for the more technically minded to produce a website which can be pretty spectacular!
There’s a facility within your editor, which you might think is there exclusively for those technically minded lot but it’s actually less daunting than you may imagine. It’s a button on your Icon Bar, which many of you will have seen but ignored. The button I’m talking about is “Show HTML” and its over on the right on the bottom row so as not to scare people. If you click this button, it changes the view setting of your web page from our simple Editor View to HTML Code View and at first glance looks like a bunch of toddlers have got hold of your keyboard and had a lovely playtime session! Before panic sets in, simply click the button again and the view flicks back to Editor.
There are numerous gadgets, functions and facilities, which you can add to your Website from other Web Resource Websites using “Code”, which these websites will provide you with. These days the majority are offered completely free – many in exchange for an email address. Google offer 1000’s of Gadgets (advertising attached of course), so many in fact, that it would be very easy to go completely overboard and fill your pages with them, totally detracting from the main information and purpose of your site so apply restraint from the outset.
Some of the more common gadgets include:
Hit Counters or Visitor Trackers
Movie or Video Players – You Tube being one of the most popular.
etc., etc., etc,...........................
Two of most commonly used are Hit Counters and You Tube, so lets have a look at how you might add these to your site.
Google offer a Hit Counter but it’s surrounded with logos and advertising, so not the neatest option available. If you type “free counters” into your search bar, top of the list at present is www.totallyfreecounter.com, it doesn’t even ask you for an email address, just choose your preferred style of counter and copy the code provided.
Once you have your code copied, go to your website control panel and open the page you want the counter to appear on in the editor. A counter is always positioned right at the bottom of your page, so, still in the editor view, tab down to a clean line and type “CODE”. Now, click your “Show HTML” button and scroll right to th bottom of the page, where you should see <p>CODE</p>. Highlight the word “CODE” and paste the code you copied in its place, making sure it sits exactly between the <p> and </p>. Now Save your page, et voila!
Go to You Tube, find your video and click to view it. To the right of the main window, under the authors note, you’ll see 2 lots of code: URL and Embed. You want the Embed code. You Tube now also offers a few options for how your video will appear. You can choose to include or not include related videos – Choose No if its a specific video for your business. Then click “Show Border” and choose a colour scheme and size (smallest size is recommended). Now copy the Embed code and go back to your Webpage editor.
With You Tube, its unlikely you’ll want the video to appear at the bottom of the page so type “XXXXXXCODEXXXXX” (easier to find!!) roughly where it needs to be on the page and then use the alignment buttons in your editor to move it to sit left, right or centre. Click your “Show HTML” button and find your “XXXXXXCODEXXXXX”. This time it will be surrounded by a bit more code : <p style="text-align: center">CODE</p>. The text-align: could be left, right or center, depending on the position you set. Highlight the word “CODE” and paste the code you copied in its place, making sure it sits exactly between the > and < brackets. Now Save your page. You should now have a live video sat right on your Web page!

These days, websites without background videos run the risk of appearing old-fashioned. Even dinosaurish,
There’s nothing wrong with dinosaurs, or with looking like one. Dinosaurs are cool. Unless they’re chasing you of course.
But our new background videos have landed, exploded and changed the game. They have wiped out the old standards for beautiful websites, and have replaced them with a new standard that will leave all other websites looking like fossils.
Luckily, both our existing clients and our new ones have access to this brilliant new feature we’ve introduced, and we’d like to share its benefits with you today.
A superhero is only super because he or she stands out amongst the crowd. If we were a planet of flying, teleporting, time-freezing super-strong aliens, then we wouldn’t think there was anything super about us. When it comes to using formatting methods such as bold, italics, capitals or centering, all of these little text-enhancing superheroes will only stand out if they are used sparingly, in the right place, and when absolutely necessary…
Reviews, testimonials, recommendations – we all seek reassurance in them. We might even skip past the good ones just to see if there are any bad ones.Other people are sources of information for us. They can tell us whether this product or service is actually any good or not. Reading their testimonials builds trust in your business.
